The Guidelines for Improved Student Attendance and Truancy Prevention provides schools with the necessary procedures to develop a successful Attendance Program. (38MB)

The Guidelines for Attendance Intervention Support details the type of intervention, which every school should implement when a child is absent from school. Intervention encompasses the school, area office and central office working together to help students achieve and maintain daily attendance. Coming soon!

The Targeting Good Student Attendance: Handbook for Students and Parents (Español) explains the schools system's attendance policies and the attendance responsibilities of the school, parent, student and community.

The CPS Mandated Attendance Intervention Timeline provides a detailed description of how every school should respond to unexcused absences.
