The CPS Competitive Grants Team oversees the identification, development, and submission of grant opportunities through local, state, and federal government agencies, as well as local and national foundations. Our team is continually searching for grant opportunities, and can assist CPS Central Office Departments with all aspects of the grant submission process. In addition, we provide assistance related to letter of support requests and other aspects of grant applications that CPS is partnering with other agencies on (when CPS is not the fiscal agent on the grant).

Summer Bridge is designed for students who do not meet the minimum promotion criteria per the Elmentary School Promotion Policy. The Summer Bridge Program consists of intensive instruction in mathematics, reading, and writing. At the conclusion of the summer, evaluation criteria are applied and successful students are promoted.

Mentoring the Next Generation (MtNG) seeks to provide CPS students in Kindergarten and 8th grade with a caring, adult mentor who can support them on their path to success in college, career, and life. Mentors are non-school building CPS staff or external volunteers who work one-on-one with students to improve their academic & social skills.
