Overview
Specialized Services coordinates a wide variety of support services for all students in the Chicago Public Schools, including special education and related services for approximately 58,000 students with disabilities and students receiving related services under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
The services provided by this department include specialized educational services, low-incidence programs, health services, health education, social/emotional services, and professional development and training. These services are instrumental in ensuring that all students graduate prepared for employment that promotes productive, independent living.
