School’s Out but Meals are Still On!
Did you know that when school closes for the summer, your children (18 years of age and younger) can enjoy free, nutritious meals in safe, supervised programs in many Chicago neighborhoods? Children and teens need good nutrition all year round. Don’t let them miss out! Free summer meal programs funded by the USDA will be operating at hundreds of sites including public schools, community and recreation centers, churches and parks. Even after schools close their doors to prepare for the new school year, many other public sites remain open through August.
