Tim Cawley
Chief Administrative Officer
Tim Cawley comes to Chicago Public Schools from the Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL) in Chicago where he was the Managing Director, Finance and Administration. AUSL is a nonprofit organization that partners with Chicago Public Schools to manage and turnaround chronically-failing public schools.
Tim joined AUSL in 2008 after a 30 year business career. Prior to joining AUSL he was a Senior Vice-President at Motorola, where he led a number of areas, including the North America cell phone business and global logistics for the entire company. Prior to joining Motorola in 2001, he held executive positions at Ameritech, leading the Small Business Services division and later Ameritech International. In the latter role Cawley was based in Brussels, Belgium and served on the boards of several major European telecom companies.
Cawley has also served as Chief Executive Officer of Revell-Monogram, the world leader in hobby model kits, and Vice-President, Marketing for Kransco, a manufacturer of popular toys and sporting goods. He began his career at Procter & Gamble in brand management, where he led teams for well-known brands such as Tide detergent.
Cawley holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame and completed the Global Leadership Program at the University of Michigan. He has served on several boards for community, service and education organizations.
