CPS seeks feedback on social networking

The great debate: To allow YouTube or not to allow YouTube in schools

Tell us your thoughts.

Dear CPS community, we need your help.

CPS is currently evaluating how students and teachers interact both inside and outside of the classroom. Is it via email? Telephone? Text messages? Or through social networking sites? Which methods are appropriate or inappropriate? We want to hear from you.

Social media and networking sites (such as YouTube, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and blogs) get mixed reviews when it comes to allowing them in our schools. If such sites were unblocked at CPS, how should they be used? If they were unblocked, what safeguards should exist for students?

What do you think? Get in the debate now and share your thoughts with us. Visit our Share your ideas section and give us your opinion on the use of social networking sites. Feedback will be posted on www.cps.edu over the next upcoming weeks.

Share your ideas.
