Chicago Public Schools, the American Bottling Company and Roosevelt University are jointly sponsoring this year’s Black History Month Essay Competition. All high school students are invited to participate.
The topic for the essay competition centers on a Dr. Martin Luther King quote: “The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined non-conformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood.”
Students are eligible to win an array of prizes including laptops, digital cameras, and scholarships from Roosevelt University.
Competition rules and an entry form are available at each high school or by visiting our District competitions section. Completed essays should be submitted to the competition coordinator at each school by February 16.
