The application period for the Options for Knowledge program began Oct. 1, 2008.  The deadline for submitting applications for the 2009-2010 school year is Dec. 19, 2008.

The Options for Knowledge program offers students the opportunity to apply to magnet schools, magnet cluster schools, open enrollment schools, regional gifted centers, classical schools, academic centers, International Baccalaureate preparatory programs, and majority-to-minority transfer schools.

Beginning Oct. 1, parents can download the Options for Knowledge guide and applications, in English and Spanish, by visiting CPS' Elementary or High School sections, cpsmagnet.orgor cpsgifted.org. Parents may also receive the guide and applications via mail by calling the Office of Academic Enhancement at (773) 553-2060.
