District-wide event promotes postsecondary education

College Spirit Day is an opportunity to show students that college is possible.

On Oct. 10, 2008, all CPS staff participated in College Spirit Day 2008.

CPS staff wore clothing from their alma maters or that of their children or relatives.

School hallways were full of college spirit, decorated with the colors and logos of many different institutions. Students also participated in different activities to put them in the college mindset.

College Spirit Day is a visually dynamic and fun way of exposing our students to the wide variety of postsecondary educational opportunities.

College awareness typically begins as early as elementary school. It is our goal to teach students about the importance of pursuing their education after high school. College Spirit Day is an opportunity to show students that college is possible, and with preparation, they can choose their future.
