CPS unveils Environmental Action Plan for 2009

CPS, Healthy Schools Campaign to discuss environment

School district is forming a taskforce for new action plan.

CPS has announced its Environmental Action Plan for FY09.

The school district is holding a Stakeholder Briefing to launch the Environmental Action Plan taskforce from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, in the Board Chambers at 125 S. Clark, 5th floor.

The goal of the plan is to minimize CPS’ impact on the environment and to teach our students to be environmental stewards.

CPS, along with Mayor Richard M. Daley, wants Chicago to be the greenest city in the nation. CPS is also collaborating with the Healthy Schools Campaign to engage interested parties to put the plan in motion.

Visit the CPS Environmental Action Plan Briefing and Taskforce  to sign up for the task force or to RSVP for the briefing event.
