The first CPS Elementary School Fair for Gifted and Enriched Academic Programs (GEAP) will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2008, at Whitney Young Magnet High School, 211 South Laflin Street.  

The fair is designed to expose parents and students to the options available through Regional Gifted Centers, Classical Schools, Academic Centers, International Baccalaureate Preparatory Programs, and Comprehensive and Specific Aptitude Gifted Programs.

Informative materials will be available, and parents will have the opportunity to meet with administrators from each of the schools and programs. In addition, the Office of Academic Enhancement (OAE) staff will be on hand to provide information regarding the application, selection, and notification process, as well as answer questions concerning testing procedures and related areas. 

This event will provide parents with information regarding options for academically advanced students, and tips for the upcoming application process.
