Math/Science

Overview

The mathematics and science curricula strongly emphasize those aspects of knowledge that are most likely to contribute to a student’s ability to explain, reason, communicate, and problem-solve, using mathematics and science.

Goals

  • Improve the teaching and learning of mathematics and science while advancing student achievement

Program benefits

  • An accelerated K-8 mathematics and science curriculum moves students to abstract-based concepts in mathematics and lab-based concepts in science
  • Each school should have a functioning Math and Science Lab that allow students to explore their learning experiences
  • Builds a cadre of mathematics and science endorsed teachers that not only understand content but also use that knowledge to create integrated activities that challenge a student's imagination while building an appreciation for quantitative literacy
  • Improves student achievement in mathematics and science

Results

The Mathematics and Science program develops a means for school collaboration, and builds confidence in the teaching of mathematics and science education to parents and the community. More information is available at the website below.
