Overview
CPS Virtual High Schools offer more than 100 online courses at more than 70 high schools and middle schools. Students have demonstrated nearly a 80% successful completion rate with over 6,500 students enrolled. This includes regular education students, those that have previously dropped out of school, those recovering credits, alternative learners, and those using CPS and Illinois Virtual High School, Apex Learning, and Aventa Learning courses for acceleration. This program is a partnership between CPS and IVHS.

Program benefits
- Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement (AP) review courses online from Florida Virtual High School, Apex Learning, and Aventa Learning to prepare for the AP exams
- Meet individual student and school needs as well as providing choice options in meeting the No Child Left Behind guidelines
- Provide anytime, anywhere learning, 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- Promote individualized, student-centered learning
