Overview
Parents or guardians have the option of homeschooling their children. The State of Illinois requests that parents or guardians of homeschooled children must:
- Complete the Statement of Assurance provided by the Chicago Public Schools
- Provide a letter to CPS which describes the manner in which you will be instructing your child at home
- Include in the letter the date the Data Analysis and Progress Reporting Form was mailed to the State Board of Education. The form and letters must be mailed or hand-delivered to:

- Complete the Data Analysis and Progress Reporting Form and mail it to:

These two documents should be filed annually for each child.
