Selective Enrollment Schools (SEES/SEHS) 

Selective Enrollment Elementary Schools are designed to meet all student needs, interests and skill levels. It also provides parents with more educational options for their children.

 

Academic Centers
Centers are designed for academically advanced students in grades 7-8.

 

Classical Schools
Provides a challenging liberal arts curriculum for students with high academic potential.

 

Comprehensive Gifted Program
Programs are available in select neighborhood and magnet schools throughout the city and serve students in grades 1 through 8.

 

International Gifted Program
The International Gifted Program is for gifted students in grades 6-8 and includes intensive study in English, French, social studies, laboratory science, and much more.

 

Off-Campus Gifted Program
Students participate in alternate academic experiences outside the classroom.

 

Regional Gifted Centers
Centers provide an accelerated instructional program for academically advanced elementary school students.

 

Specific-Aptitude Program
Pullout programs focus on specific subjects and serve varying grades.

 

Advanced Placement Program
serves grades 10-12 part-time and is available in 19 subjects such as English, Biology and Calculus.

 

Chicago History Advanced Placement Project (CHAPP)
CHAPP is designed to improve instructional strategies and increase the number of students achieving a four or higher on the AP exam.

 

Virtual HS
Students can take select high school courses online.

 

College and Career Preparation
Students begin planning and preparing for their futures.

 

Global Classroom/Model UN

Students are engaged in an exploration of current world issues through interactive simulations and curricular materials.
