Specialty Magnet Programs

Specialty Magnet schools specialize in a specific subject area, such as Montessori, International Baccalaureate, math and science, humanities, or dual language immersion. Most magnet schools do not have neighborhood attendance boundaries—they enroll students from throughout the city, and require an application.

For those magnets that have attendance boundaries, students living within those boundaries do not need to apply. Magnet schools offer transportation to students who live more than 1.5 miles but less than 6 miles from the school.
