The Boys and Girls Citywide Bowling program supports 55 schools and 110 bowling teams.
The alignment consists of six conferences including three Southside and three Northside conferences. Four teams from each section qualify for the City Championship playoffs each season.
The team who hits the most pins wins
The playoffs begin with 24 teams competing in an elimination-style bowling competition. The City Championship series includes four Northside teams and four Southside teams. Determining the top team is easy. The team with the highest number of pins wins and gets to take home the City Team Championship Award.
Not everyone goes home empty-handed. The top player is also honored with a City Champion Award. The second place team, along with the five best scoring individuals, also receive runner-up awards. Once the City Playoffs are over, each school then has the option of entering the State Championship Series.
Rules and regulations
It’s important for both parents and students to know, and abide by all the rules and regulations set forth by CPS and the National Federation of State High School Associations. These rules are designed to ensure that every team has a fair chance to participate, and to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance at our games.
Join the team
Students interested in playing sports should contact the Athletic Coordinator at their school. Your school should be able to provide more information about eligibility and team tryouts.
