There are 72 high schools participating in our wrestling program. Each team comprises of 14 wrestlers who compete in designated weight classes ranging from 103 pounds up to 285 pounds and above.
The interscholastic contest between schools culminates with the City Championship. Once the City individual and team champions are crowned, one CPS team is formed to compete in the state tournament. Individuals also compete in various weight classes.

Rules and regulations
It’s important for both parents and students to know, and abide by all the rules and regulations set forth by CPS and the National Federation of State High School Associations. These rules are designed to ensure that every team has a fair chance to participate, and to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance at our games.
