CPS New Teacher Orientation

Overview

The Office of Professional Learning offers a New Teacher Orientation in conjunction with the CPS Framework Fest. The sessions support teachers that are new, both to the profession and to Chicago Public Schools, in starting their year off successfully. During the New Teacher Orientation you will learn more about Chicago Public Schools and how to operate within the district (e.g. Grade tracking systems, Learning Standards expectations (CPS Common Core), Teacher Evaluation, CPS Student Code of Conduct, Resource availability, The CPS Framework for Teaching). At the Framework Fest you will have varied opportunities to dig deep into the CPS Framework for Teaching to learn more about the districts definition of good teaching.
