Research shows that healthy students have better attendance and perform better in school, academically and socially. The Chicago Board of Education is committed to addressing barriers to learning through health promotion and disease prevention activities designed to improve the quality of life for students attending the Chicago Public Schools. We also strive to decrease health disparities within the district through the coordination of school health programs and services.

If your child has asthma, CPS requests that you and your child’s physician complete several important forms.

Students in kindergarten, 2nd, and 6th grade must have a dental exam by May 15 of the current school year.
