Whitney M. Young Magnet High School provides a rigorous and challenging college preparatory curriculum for a diverse student body. Whitney Young boasts one of the largest Advanced Placement programs. The class of 2009 included 7 National Achievement Semifinalists and 17 National Merit Semifinalists. Honors level courses are offered in 60 courses as well as 26 AP courses.

Statistics Demographics As of 2012-2013, there were 2184 students enrolled at YOUNG HS. 38% were low income Students. 7.3% were Special Education Students. 1.1% were Limited English Learners. As of 2012-2013, the largest demographic at YOUNG HS was White. As of that time, this demographic made up 29.3% of the student population. The second greatest demographic was Black at 25%.
