Calmeca Academy provides programs emphasizing Languages and Arts. Instruction is unique and innovative constantly utilizing research-based strategies. Dual Language is implemented in Pre-K and K and will grow through the years. Mandarin is taught in PK to 4. External partners include UIC, Columbia College, Chicago Opera Theater, Changing Worlds and a strong parent group.

Statistics Demographics As of 2012-2013, there were 839 students enrolled at CALMECA. 93.4% were low income Students. 11.4% were Special Education Students. 51.4% were Limited English Learners. As of 2012-2013, the largest demographic at CALMECA was Hispanic. As of that time, this demographic made up 94.5% of the student population. The second greatest demographic was Black at 1.9%.
