Overview

Farragut Career Academy is in the heart of Little Village. It offers programs to enhance the lives of children. The core of education rests on college preparation courses and job readiness programs. Farragut's goal is to prepare students to set and achieve postsecondary goals. The curriculum is designed using "Transformation" as an instructional tool. The atmosphere and culture is student-centered. The walls are covered with inspiring hues and the voices of motivated students ring through the halls. There is a program for every student. Students are exposed to Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Farragut offers certificates in Cosmetology, Automotives, Woodshop/Cabinet Making, and Medical Assistance. To support and promote leadership skills, students may also join Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC). Farragut offers an abundance of support and resources for students and the community.

Farragut produces great students. It is the home of the award-winning Admirals and Kevin Garnett. The unlimited resources guarantee success. Students are provided with a nurturing and rigorous learning environment. There are a number of extracurricular activities and programs to enhance student interests and skills.
Statistics Demographics
As of 2008-2009, there were 1771 students enrolled at Farragut HS. 97.7% were low income Students. 17.1% were Special Education Students. 14.2% were Limited English Learners. As of 2008-2009, the largest demographic at Farragut HS was Hispanic. As of that time, this demographic made up 80.7% of the student population. The second greatest demographic was Black at 18.6%.
