Overview

It is our vision to sustain a highly motivated learning community that supports the concept that all students can learn when given the proper tools and opportunities. Our intent is to create a multicultural, multilingual environment that respects its stakeholders and enables them to fully develop their potential. World Language High School is a small school with a population of 350 students. Our school serves the Little Village and North Lawndale communities. We provide a wide range of opportunities for students to explore and consider a variety of career paths including Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Advanced Placement (AP) courses, world languages, Heritage Language, Virtual Learning with Technology (VLT), Symposiums, Chinese, and a nursing program.

Are you ready to learn in a variety of styles through working with many different people from other cultures and speaking other languages? At World Language you can explore learning through multicultural, multilingual, and career-related projects. We also offer Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) and Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
Statistics Demographics
As of 2008-2009, there were 363 students enrolled at World Language HS. 96.4% were low income Students. 16.3% were Special Education Students. 12.7% were Limited English Learners. As of 2008-2009, the largest demographic at World Language HS was Hispanic. As of that time, this demographic made up 91.5% of the student population. The second greatest demographic was Black at 7.7%.
