Tuition-based preschool

Tuition-based preschool (TBP) offers parents an affordable full-day school-based educational program for preschool children ages three and four. This program is offered in a limited number of elementary schools. All participating children are required to pay tuition. TBP is part of Mayor Daley’s “Setting a Course for Early Childhood in Chicago” initiative that is designed to support and make universal preschool services available to all children and their families.

Overview

Tuition-based preschools are offered in a limited number of CPS elementary schools. All participating children are required to pay tuition. The TBP program:

Provides affordable, quality education and child care services.
Requires tuition in advance of service with a non-refundable deposit at time of registration.
Requires that parents must agree to sign a one-year program agreement.

Curriculum

TBP uses the Creative Curriculum Literacy Approach to promote literacy, including reading aloud, storytelling, talking, singing, and playing with language.

Attendance boundaries

None. Students across the city may apply.
