There’s only a few weeks left for parents and students to apply to select CPS elementary and high schools.
The deadline for applications for CPS’ magnet elementary schools and high schools, magnet cluster schools, high school magnet programs, open enrollment schools, selective enrollment high schools, and gifted and enriched academic programs (GEAP), including regional gifted centers, classical schools, and academic centers, is Friday, Dec. 18, 2009.
Standard applications and the application for gifted and enriched academic programs can be obtained in a variety of ways:
- Visit cps.edu’s Elementary or High School sections. Here, you can select the type of program you are interested in and download the application directly.
- Visit cpsgifted.org .
- Request that the guide and applications be mailed from Academic Enhancement by calling (773) 553-2060.
The Options for Knowledge guide can also be downloaded from these websites. Selective enrollment high schools and military academies require a special application, which can be obtained from those schools or by calling Academic Enhancement at (773) 553-2060.
Applications must be postmarked by Dec. 18, 2009. CPS strongly encourages parents and students to apply to more than one school. For families looking for more information about any of the schools, CPS’ Elementary and High School Directories are also available online.
