Dear CPS Families,
Welcome back to what I know is going to be another successful school year!
As a proud graduate of CPS, I am honored to be serving as the District’s Interim Superintendent/CEO. One of my top priorities in these early weeks will be visiting our classrooms, so I look forward to seeing your children getting to know their teachers, connecting with each other, and diving into new learning concepts that will help them build on their outstanding gains from last year.
Those gains were impressive, with our elementary school students growing by leaps and bounds in literacy, and our high school students continuing to break records in the District’s graduation rate, college and career credentials earned, and scholarship dollars awarded. I have every confidence that with your partnership, and with the talent and dedication of our teachers, school leaders, and support staff, our students can continue, and even exceed, this level of progress in the new school year.
I hope that our students are returning to school this week feeling excited and energized. I can tell you that their principals and teachers have been preparing for them and eagerly awaiting their return.Our schools are ready to start the 2025-26 school year strong.
