Overview

Best Practice High School is a small nurturing environment located on the Near Westside of Chicago, in walking distance of the United Center. The school was established in 1996 by a group of veteran Chicago Public Schools teachers in partnership with National-Louis University. Our diverse learners are engaged in a rigorous, inquiry-based curriculum that will prepare them to be lifelong learners. Best Practice will not accept freshmen this year.

Best Practice enjoys partnerships with non-profit organizations, city agencies, cultural institutions, community organizations, schools, hospitals, day care centers and businesses throughout Chicago. Best Practice is a non-selective, heterogeneous school with a student body from neighborhoods all over the city.
Statistics Demographics
As of 2008-2009, there were 144 students enrolled at Best Practice HS. 96.5% were low income Students. 16.0% were Special Education Students. 2.8% were Limited English Learners. As of 2008-2009, the largest demographic at Best Practice HS was Black. As of that time, this demographic made up 93.1% of the student population. The second greatest demographic was Hispanic at 6.9%.
