Choosing In-Person Learning
Families have the opportunity to choose in-person learning for their child’s learning preferences at the beginning of the next academic quarter through the end of the school year. Please follow the steps below to choose the learning model that works best for your child:
- For school year 2020-21, the district will send families an in-person learning opt-in form for each child that must be completed by the specified deadline.
- Students can return to remote learning at any time. Please contact your school’s principal to notify them of the change. Please note that students may not return to in-person until the next opt-in window.

Opt-Into Non-Emergency Communications
Whether your family choses in-person or remote learning, it is important that CPS has the ability to quickly communicate with you. The district and your child’s school uses Blackboard, a mass communication platform to communicate with families via robocall, email, and SMS text messaging. The district provides regular updates including COVID-19 information, district news and events, and other critical information; as well as announcements about report card distribution and parent-teacher conferences. To ensure you receive these school- and district-related notifications and reminders, please complete the consent form below and return it to your school’s main office.
If you have not done so already, please complete and return the School Messaging Consent Form below to your school to begin receiving non-emergency communications.
