School Overview

As a Community of Learners, we pride ourselves in serving the whole child. To ensure that students are thriving, we not only focus on the academic, but also the social emotional learning of all students so once they leave elementary school they are well prepared to take on their next steps into high school and ultimately, find success in their post-secondary choices. We teach our students the importance of caring, Smyser CARES For Self, For Others, and For Our School. We are here to make a difference in all of our students' lives by encouraging, educating, and believing in them. Mission Smyser Cares about meeting the needs of ALL learners. We prioritize the whole child, which includes student health and social-emotional wellbeing. Smyser engages and empowers students through a profound foundation of literacy, mathematics, and the sciences, while also integrating technology and fostering an appreciation for the arts. We are a safe and equitable environment where all students of diverse backgrounds feel welcome and are able to reach their highest potential to become productive citizens beyond Smyser Elementary School.
