A Message from the Principal

A Message from the Principal

Welcome to another school year at York High School, where the success of every student matters! As the leader of the school, I'm excited to be accompanied by a team of talented professionals, whose work represents the love of learning and an unyielding servitude to students. Collectively, our core beliefs and values not only reflect a culture of learning, but also one of Care, Productivity and Responsibility; Therefore, we base EVERY decision on what is best for our students. Although we serve in a non-traditional setting, it is my greatest hope that every student finds value in his/her school experience at York. At the end of their tenure here, students should feel empowered to transition with the innermost mind and skill sets that allow competent men and women to bear responsibility for accepting and accessing pathways to productive citizenship. In the words of former Teacher and President (Lyndon B. Johnson), "Nothing matters more to the future of our country than educational opportunity...For freedom is fragile if citizens are ignorant..." The work we do on a day-to-day basis speaks volumes about who we are, and what we believe about the young men and women we unselfishly serve. As you approach the new school year, keep in mind that no part is greater than its whole, and as a school we're only as strong as the supports that we give each other and the educational care that we render to students. I wish you all a productive school year and look forward to another opportunity to serve as your instructional leader.
