The Master’s in Public Education Management (The Broad Master’s or TBM) gives highly motivated, accomplished K-12 education professionals the skills and broad perspective to grow as education leaders who make real, lasting impact for students and families. Offered in five in-person residence weeks on the Yale SOM campus, plus monthly virtual sessions, this tuition-free program is designed for early- to mid-career professionals working in large, urban public school systems in the United States. Students connect deeply with their small cohort of 30 students while drawing on expertise from the Yale SOM faculty and public education leaders and practitioners across the country. Students earn a Master’s in Management Studies from Yale SOM at the completion of the program.
The Broad Master’s is a tuition-free program. TBC at SOM covers all programmatic costs and room and board while students are on campus. Students are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel to and from the Yale School of Management campus in New Haven, CT for the five on-campus program weeks, and some school systems choose to support this cost.
The application for the 2026-27 cohort is now closed. The application for the 2027-28 cohort will open in late August 2026. To stay in touch and receive admissions updates, please fill out our inquiry form.
