Official Grades
The grades used are from the student’s official transcript. In order to maintain accuracy and integrity, letter grades cannot be weighted or analyzed outside of the information that is listed on that official transcript, including honors or extenuating circumstances.
Submitting Grades
Grades must be submitted on the GoCPS application by the deadline to participate in testing for the initial round of selections.
- Current CPS Students: Final grades from the students previous year will be used and automatically uploaded directly from the student information system being used at the student’s current school. If grades are missing, your current school must input grades at the school and those will be automatically entered into the application.
- Non-CPS Students: Parents/guardians can submit final grades from a student's previous school year by uploading the official transcript directly to the GoCPS application. Official transcripts can also be submitted by your current school. All grade submissions require a transcript or final report card upload for grade verification purposes. For report cards that are not on the standard grading scale, please see our Grade Conversion Guidance for more information. The Office of Access and Enrollment will review all non-CPS grade submissions and correct any grades that do not match the transcript provided or that were not converted consistent with the grade conversion guidance.
Grade Change Request
Current CPS Students Only: If there is an error in your child’s grades, contact your child’s counselor or school official to update in the student information system, ASPEN. Official changes to scores or grades must be received no later than the GoCPS application deadline. Changes received after this date will not be considered in the initial selections process.
