The Exhibition of Student STEM Research is an action packed weekend of student presentations on topics ranging from astronomy to zoology. The opening ceremony took place Friday at the Museum of Science and Industry, 5700 S. Lake Shore Dr.

More than 400 judges will evaluate and score each project and exhibition, concluding with an award ceremony on Sunday. The top 45 projects will be announced and those students will advance to the Illinois Science Fair April 27.

Student presentations showcase the critical connections between science, technology, engineering and math.

Public viewing is Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. and the award ceremony is Sunday from 1-3 p.m. More information can be found at www.cpschifair.org.

Since 1950, Chicago Public School Student Science Fair, Inc., (SSF) the non-profit organization that supports the annual science fair, has provided opportunities for CPS students to engage in STEM research and have their work evaluated by professionals in specialized fields of study at the city, state and international levels. To support career and college readiness, SSF has awarded over 2,120 scholarships to students from 75 Chicago public high schools totaling more than $3,600,000.
