It’s time to make your voices heard! Local School Council (LSC) Elections are only a few weeks away. Elementary school LSC Elections will be held on April 20, 2022 from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and high school LSC Elections will be held on April 21, 2022 from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Here’s what you need to know about voting.

If you are a parent or community member:

CPS parents and community members have an opportunity to vote for up to five candidates running to serve as parent representatives or community representatives. All parents, legal guardians, or temporary custodians of CPS students are eligible to vote in the LSC election at their student’s respective school. Elections are also open to any community members who are 17 years or older and reside in a respective school’s attendance area or voting district. To find the schools where you are eligible to vote, please review the CPS Local School Council Voting Districts.

If you are a school staff member:

School staff will vote for the teacher and non-teacher staff representative candidates in a non-binding advisory preference poll on the same day and in the same location as the election for the parent and community representatives. Each member of the school staff is entitled to indicate their preference for up to two candidates from among both the teacher and non-teacher staff candidates on the ballot.

If you are a student:

All students enrolled full-time in a school with a student LSC representative seat may indicate their preference for one candidate from among the student representative candidates by participating in the student election poll. These polls will take place on April 18, 2022 and April 19, 2022

We’re also extremely proud to recognize the schools that have enough candidates to meet a full council. Congratulations to the schools in each geographic network below!
