Q4 grade posting columns & other important notes

Due to the new PE/PK standard calendar in Aspen, PE/PK students are not required to attend classes today. ES attendance coordinators using the Daily Attendance Notification report for June 4th, 2026 will see PE/PK teachers displayed on the report as "did not post", as designed, despite today being programmed in Aspen as "not in session" (this message will be in the report window as a reminder).

The grade posting deadline for Benchmark Grades (2nd graders in Reading; 5th and 8th graders in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Science) summer school eligibility was Friday, May 15th. For 8th and 12th graders, all grades should be posted 48 hours before graduation ceremonies. Friday, May 29th is the district-wide Teachers' grade-entry deadline for Grades 9-12. Monday, June 1st at 5:00 p.m. is the district-wide Teachers' grade-entry deadline for Grades K-8. Please see the SIS Calendar page for additional details on grade entry deadlines and transcript availability as we approach the end of the school year.

  • Kindergarten Teachers:  you can find resources supporting your marks-posting process on this Intranet page.
  • Elementary school Teachers: a specific grade posting process is required for quarter 4 and final grades. Quarter 4 grades should be fully posted before running "update post columns" for the final grade (FG), and then running "post grades" for the final grade. Detailed steps are illustrated in this video and this recently updated guide.
  • High school Schedulers: Please complete any required schedule changes as soon as possible (e.g. Financial Ed, Public Law, Service Learning Projects, etc.) so that Aspen can open up any new classes for grade posting before teacher grade entry deadlines.
  • Principals and APs: Please take advantage of the End of Grading Period Review Guide, and ensure that grades are accurate and complete with the help of the CPS Grade Validation Export - a report designed specifically to help teachers and admins spot discrepancies between teacher gradebook averages and posted letter grades. Administrators should always review printed report cards for accuracy before they are sent home.

A final note: Aspen year-end processing is scheduled to begin on Friday, June 12th. More detailed information about the Aspen school year rollover timeline is available in the last panel on the SIS Calendar page.
