The National Equity Project (NEP)

The National Equity Project (NEP) is a leadership and systems change organization committed to increasing the capacity of people to achieve thriving, self-determining, educated, and just communities. NEP influenced and inspired the drafting of the CPS Equity Framework.

NEP Midwest NetworkThe Liberatory Design and Equity Challenge strategy are some examples of NEP’s inspirations for the CPS Equity Framework. The school teams of Dunbar Career Academy High School, Kanoon Elementary Magnet School, Payton College Preparatory High School, and Walsh Elementary School in partnership with the Network 7 Chief of Schools,  and the Office of Equity comprise the NEP Midwest Network. The team seeks to improve student experiences and inform system change in CPS while developing equity leadership at every level of schooling.
