Course Overview
In Skyline Social Science Grade 4: Our State, Our Nation, students will explore the geography, history, development, government, and diversity of Illinois and our nation through their study of each region. Learners will gain a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives in United States history and how people in each region have worked towards promoting the rights and common good of all people and communities.

Introducing the Revised Skyline Social Science Curriculum
Starting in Fall 2026, new units will be posted in Safari Montage, linked to here. Timing will allow teachers to review and backwards plan.
Expect stronger alignment to the CPS Social Science Culturally Responsive Inquiry Arc Framework, a cross-disciplinary approach with Skyline ELA, and improvements based on teacher and student feedback.
