Course Overview
Skyline Social Science High School I: World Studies covers key topics ranging from the indigenous roots of the world to current issues that affect the world today. Each unit’s Case Study connects world history to contemporary life. The course aims to deepen students’ understanding of the formation of personal, local, national, and global identities and encourage them to consider the civic and moral responsibilities that come with being a civic actor in the world.

Introducing the Revised Skyline Social Science Curriculum
Starting in Fall 2026, new units will be posted in Safari Montage, linked to here. Timing will allow teachers to review and backwards plan.
Expect stronger alignment to the CPS Social Science Culturally Responsive Inquiry Arc Framework, a cross-disciplinary approach with Skyline ELA, and improvements based on teacher and student feedback.
