The 5Essentials Survey is administered by UChicago Impact for the CPS. The survey asks students and teachers about their experiences and feelings in the school environment.

About the Survey

Students and teachers are invited to participate in the CPS 5Essentials survey between February 10, 2026 and March 13, 2026. This survey is administered by UChicago Impact for CPS. The survey asks students and teachers about their experiences and feelings in the school environment; these perspectives directly inform plans to improve schools. Additionally, results from this survey are included in CPS school profiles. The student response rates for this survey contribute to schools’ accountability ratings from ISBE. This letter is sent to parents and guardians each year to notify them of the student survey.

Survey Schedule

  • Elementary and High School Students (Grades 4–12): February 10 – March 13, 2026
  • Teachers (All PK–12): February 10 – March 13, 2026

Surveys
