CPS sports programs provide all students—regardless of race, gender, or ethnicity—opportunities to develop physically, mentally, and emotionally in controlled, safe activities outside of the traditional classroom.

Organized sports offer students an opportunity to develop a sense of belonging, self-worth, and confidence. Studies have shown that student participation has a positive effect on school performance, adolescent development, and fitness.

All interested fifth through eighth graders can participate in sports. The CPS SCORE program provides a safe, structured, and positive learning experience.
