CHICAGO- The Chicago Board of Education Thursday approved two key leadership appointments that support academic excellence and equitable opportunities for staff, students and their families with Chicago Public Schools.

These appointments position experienced leaders in essential roles that directly impact student success. Each leader has a proven history of advancing educational equity and offers a clear vision for improving outcomes for every student across Chicago's school communities.

“Both these leaders bring a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to fostering an environment where every student can thrive,” said CPS CEO/Superintendent Dr. Macquline King. “Their strategic vision and dedication will play a vital role in enhancing our schools and empowering our students for success in all aspects of their lives.”

The two new executive appointments are Evangelina Covarrubias as Chief Equity Officer and Marilou Rebolledo as Chief Teaching & Learning Officer.

Evangelina Covarrubias: Chief Equity Officer
