Department of Arts Education Creative Schools Initiative
The Creative Schools Initiative is the ambitious effort by the CPS Department of Arts Education to ensure every student receives a high-quality, well-rounded education that includes the arts. Developed in response to the CPS Arts Education Plan, this Initiative is fundamentally structured around four key components:
- Establishing Arts Liaisons in every school.
- Utilizing the Creative Schools Certification (CSC) data system to track progress and guide strategy.
- Offering comprehensive Creative Schools Supports like customized roadmaps.
- Managing expanded Grants and Funding (such as the Creative Schools Fund) to provide the necessary resources for advancing arts equity across the entire district.
