Our Approach
CPS is prioritizing the needs of students in each school rather than the number of students in that school as was done in previous years. This change represents a significant improvement, especially for communities that have historically been furthest from opportunity.
-
Resource Equity
The goal of resource equity is to create equitable student experiences for every child. It is accomplished by consistently prioritizing and allocating people, time, and money to align with levels of need and opportunity.
This fall, Casas, Cisneros, Fuentes, Santiago, Tamayo, and ChiArts are joining the Chicago Public Schools family as district-managed schools. CPS is committed to supporting these communities every step of the way during this transition. You're invited to share your feedback at one of our community meetings to help guide our approach and decision-making. Learn more about the transition process for Acero schools at cps.edu/campaigns/acero-transitions and ChiArts at cps.edu/campaigns/chiarts-transition, or enroll today at go.cps.edu.
