Evidence of Student Learning and Wellbeing - Options Schools

Measuring data about our Options and Detention-Center students’ progress through required testing, English language proficiency, participation, and preparing for life after graduation helps the district direct resources where needed the most. Metrics are updated as information becomes available.

Academic Progress

Student Growth in Math and Reading: Measures the percentage of students who have met their expected growth target on the STAR 360 assessment.

Credit Attainment: Identifies the average number of credits that students earn during the time they are enrolled.

Connectedness and Wellbeing

Average Daily Attendance: Measures the percentage of school days students were marked present divided by the total number of days that students were expected to be in attendance.

Growth in Attendance: Measures the percentage of students who increased their attendance rate by at least 3 percentage points or had at least 90% attendance.

Stabilization: Measures the percentage of students who enroll in an Options school that remain enrolled in any CPS school at the close of the school year or who graduate.

Student Portfolio: Measures the percentage of students who have successfully completed a portfolio of lessons during the period of enrollment at Jefferson High School or York High School.

Transition Plan: Measures the percentage of students who exit Jefferson High School with a complete and comprehensive transition plan.

Transition Rate - Enrollment: Measures the percentage of students who enroll in a CPS school after leaving Jefferson High School

Transition Rate - Persistence: Measures the percentage of students who exit Jefferson High School, re-enroll in a CPS school, and remain enrolled until the end of the school year.

Postsecondary Success

Postsecondary Pathways & Transition Enrollment: Measures the percentage of graduating students who enroll in transition centers and/or matriculate into a postsecondary pathway.

One-Year Graduation Rate: Measures the percentage of students that graduate by the close of the school year who are within range of graduation upon enrollment.
