Inclusive & Supportive Learning Environment

Every student needs the right support to stay engaged and grow academically. This section helps families understand how the school monitors student progress, builds supportive classroom environments, and listens to student feedback. These measures show whether students feel supported in their learning and whether the school is helping them stay on track.

Over time, this section will also include information about how schools identify students who need extra help and how they create support plans. That part of the system is still being developed and will be added when it is ready.

This category focuses on academic support inside the classroom, not broader wellbeing or enrichment — those appear in the Connectedness and Wellbeing section.

How the Pieces Fit Together

  • On-Track shows whether students are meeting key academic expectations.
  • Supportive Environment shows how safe and encouraged students feel in their classrooms.
  • Cultivate shows whether students believe their feedback leads to real improvements.

Together, they show how well the school supports students’ learning and keeps them meaningfully engaged.

Example

If a school has strong Supportive Environment ratings but lower On-Track results, it may mean students feel encouraged, but the school needs more targeted academic supports. Families can ask how the school uses student feedback and classroom routines to strengthen learning.
