Where This Data Comes From
The Survey
The Cultivate Survey, which asks students how they feel about their learning experiences.
Student Participation
How many students in grades 5–12 take the Cultivate Survey.
Impact Number
How many students believe their feedback will be used to make their school better.
Why This Matters
Students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and heard. This survey helps schools understand what students experience each day—what is working well and what needs attention. It helps students, teachers, and principals work together to make classrooms better. When students believe their voice matters, they are more engaged, more connected, and more confident in their learning.
What It Can & Cannot Tell You
It Can Tell You:
- Can show how many students shared their experiences.
- Can show whether students feel their school listens to them and uses their feedback.
It Cannot Tell You:
- Can not explain how individual students are feeling or performing.
- Can not explain exactly why students feel the way they do without more conversations and follow-up.

Questions You May Ask the School
- How is student feedback used to improve the school?
- What changes have been made because of past Cultivate results?
- Based on the survey, which conditions is the school working to improve and how?
- Are there groups of students whose voices are not being heard, and how is the school addressing that?
