On-Track shows the percentage of students who are currently on track for high school success or graduation in 4 years.

Where This Data Comes From

Grades 3–8

Attendance greater than 90% and a GPA of 3.0+ in core subjects (Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies)

9th Grade

  • District-Managed Schools: Failing no more than one semester credit and earning at least 6.5 credits
  • Charter and Contract Schools: Failing no more than one semester credit and earning at least 5 credits  
  • The district rate only includes district-managed schools.

Why This Matters

Students who are On-Track are much more likely to graduate on time. This measure acts as an early warning tool to see which groups of students may need support.

What It Can & Cannot Tell You

It Can Tell You:

  • Can highlight if groups of students at a school are on track for success.

It Cannot Tell You:

  • Cannot guarantee graduation for individual students. 
  • Results may differ across schools because of attendance, grading practices, and student needs.
