IB Credit

Students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Programme may receive college credit for their high school courses.

International Baccalaureate (IB) students who earn a score of a 4 or higher on IB exams may receive college credit. The amount of credit awarded varies by college and university and can also vary by subject area. All public postsecondary institutions in Illinois including all City Colleges of Chicago award college credit for passing scores on IB exams. Students can download a list of IB policies by university to determine credits earned at other colleges and universities.

Students who complete the full IB Diploma Programme (a cumulative score of 24 points or above on IB exams) may also qualify to earn additional credits and scholarships from various universities and colleges worldwide.
