Welcome to Brownell! At Brownell, our core focus remains the recognition and celebration of every student as a unique individual. We are dedicated to providing equitable instruction that guarantees all students—including our English Learners (EL) and Diverse Learners (DL)—have full access to rigorous, grade-level Tier 1 instruction with the necessary scaffolds to ensure their success. We truly believe in every student, every domain, every day! Our academic program is built on high-leverage, research-backed curricula and modern learning tools across all content areas: Literacy & Writing: We utilize the my View Literacy curriculum, which features embedded small-skill groups during Tier 1 instruction to ensure every learner can access grade-level standards. To deepen learning, we place a strong emphasis on writing across the curriculum, encouraging students to express their ideas clearly across all subjects. Mathematics: Our math instruction is driven by Eureka Math, paired with Equip to provide data-driven assessment, targeted remediation, and personalized differentiation to meet students where they are. Science & Social Science: Through the Skyline curriculum, students engage in inquiry-based, culturally responsive learning that builds real-world critical thinking skills. Instructional Technology: All classrooms feature 1:1 technology for every student, paired with 21st-century Promethean interactive boards to create engaging, dynamic, and tech-rich learning environments. Targeted Support & Attendance: To ensure no child is left behind, our daily schedule includes an embedded, school-wide Intervention Period. This dedicated time allows us to provide targeted Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports for students needing extra acceleration or skill reinforcement. Because being present is essential to receiving this high-quality instruction, we feature dynamic, school-wide attendance incentives that encourage students to show up every day, take ownership of their learning, and "level up" their academic success!
